EVENTS

New Years Eve and Day!

There are no shortage of venues in San Francisco with festivities planned of New Year's Eve, so here are a few ideas.

As is the tradition, fireworks will go off at midnight over the San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge, but here are a few ideas of what to do before then, and the next day.

The Union Square Ice Rink will be open on both December 31st. And January First.

The Balboa Theater is hosting a showing of the Rocky Horror Picture Show on New Year's Eve.

Once again, for 20 years, MOANY (Mother Of All New Years)  has been The Regency Ballroom's New Year's Eve tradition.  Three different floors offer many dance options, playing a variety of genres.

Voted the best dive bar in San Francisco (although I've seen worse), the Riptide Bar hosts the New Year’s Day Plunge at Ocean Beach.   Beginning at 12:00pm on January 1st, join your fellow Crazies, at Ocean Beach and Taraval Street, for a dip in the cold Pacific Ocean to cleanse yourself of the previous year.

MUSIC

The Independent

Hailing all the way from Nashville,  Liam St. John the chart topping blues singer and songwriter joins Paul Cauthen at the best little club in San Francisco.

December 30th and 31st.

PERFORMANCE

Circus Bella

The little circus that could, Circus Bella, returns to the Crossing in East Cut, with more wonder under the Big Top.  Now running through January 4th.

ART

SFMOMA

You may have seen the giant infallible character on top of the SFMOMA, welcoming the Kaws: Family.  This unique exhibition runs through May 3rd of 2026.
