COMEDY

SF Sketchfest

Beginning on January 15th. several venues over two weeks host some of comedy's greatest legends for performances, sketches, and Q&A's.  This week SF Sketchfest welcomes the Daily Show's John Hodgman, Busy Phillips and Janene Garofalo.

MUSIC

The San Francisco Symphony

Music does not have to be performed in a large venue in front of thousands of people.  It can be intimate and local.  Join these world famous musicians for free community performance at Bernal Heights Library on January 13th.

PERFORMANCE

San Francisco Magic Theater

Mentalist Jay Alexander has been amazing audiences for 25 years, including Robin Williams and Bono!  Now in residence at the Marrakesh Restaurant's performance space, his mind bending mentalism is a great way to ring in the new year.

ART

Recology

Yes, I said Recology, the waste management for San Francisco.

They are the guys who pick up our garbage.  But they are also innovators in recycling, and have commissioned a local artist to create a sculpture garden out of recycled materials they've collected.  Their plant is at 501 Tunnel Rd., is in an industrial part of the city, but that is where they have established this one-of-a-kind art space.
