Mission Bay
Before European settlers, Mission Bay was the moth of Mission creek, which has since been paved over. In the basements of certain buildings, you can still see the water flowing underground,
The built-over underground river reasserted itself to its original configuration after the 1906 Earthquake and Fire. A river not seen for fifty years.
Mission Bay is also the home of the Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors. And in 2025 the WNBA's newest franchise, the Valkyries.
Intersections of 3rd and 16th Streets cross each other, somehow.
Most of what is now Mision Bay was once predominantly ocean and marshland. It took several decades, but it was eventually. filled in.
It is the location of the SFPD's new headquarters.
Now the newest campus for the University of California, San Francisco. In fact, the university covers 60 square blocks.
