My Favorite Description Of A David Lynch Film.

When I was a young film student at San Francisco State University, the Film 510 class required students to shoot a scene from an already existing movie.

A third of the class chose scenes from David Lynch films.  Between the Scorsese and Tarantino eras, the North Star young filmmakers aspired too in the late 1980s and early 1990s belonged to David Lynch.
