Welcome to Incoming, from SFHotelstories.  Your concierge weekly guide to the pulse of what's happening in San Francisco.

Much of the city shuts down around Christmas, but there are a few San Francisco Christmas traditions worth knowing of.

Golden Gate Park at Christmas

Comedy

The Imperial Palace Restaurant

The Kung Pao Kosher Comedy show is one of the great traditions in San Francisco on Christmas.  Now in its 32 second year, if you can believe it.  Mistress of Ceremonies, Lisa Geduldig once again hosts an eclectic line up at the Imperial Palace restaurant in Chinatown.

Performance

Grace Cathedral

Nothing says Christmas than the midnight services in our very own Notre Dame-like church, Grace Cathedral.

Art

The Paul Thiebaud Gallery

The Paul Thiebaud Gallery on Russian Hill hosts Cornelia Schulz: Synthesis, a retrospective of this bay area artist displays eleven recent gesturally abstract paintings on her signature shaped canvases.  Now showing through January 11th.

Music

The Public Works

The Public Works performance space welcomes the NOT BORING TAKEOVER: From Christmas Lights to Burners Nights on Saturday, December 28th.  I’m still trying to figure out what it is, but they invite you to… “Step into a world of music, magic, and a Not Boring surprise gift for every guest.”

Here is a list of some of the businesses which are open on Christmas Day:
